
The Lagos State Police Command has recorded significant operational gains in November 2025, achieving major breakthroughs in crime prevention, vehicle recovery, and the disruption of violent criminal networks across the state.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh announced that the Command delivered “comprehensive operational achievements” driven by intelligence-led policing, targeted raids, sustained surveillance, and rapid tactical response across multiple divisions.
According to the Commissioner, officers of the Command: Recovered 10 vehicles and 1 motorcycle linked to theft, fraudulent conversion, smuggling, and criminal activity; Arrested multiple suspects linked to armed robbery, conspiracy, kidnapping, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and threats to life; Seized six firearms, assorted weapons, charms, and counterfeit foreign currency.
“These achievements demonstrate the Command’s tactical November strategy to dismantle criminal gangs, intercept stolen assets, recover illegally held weapons, and reinforce public safety across Lagos State,” the Commissioner stated.
The Lagos State Police Command successfully recovered 10 stolen or fraudulently obtained vehicles and 1 motorcycle through coordinated operations:
1. White Toyota Hilux – KTU 940 JR Recovered following intelligence that it was hired and used to obtain property under false pretenses.
2. White Range Rover SUV (Short Wheelbase) Taken into police custody after the person last seen with the car could not be identified by the registered owner.
3. Black Toyota Land Cruiser Intercepted for lacking valid customs documentation and suspected of illegal importation.
4. Silver Lexus GX460 SUV Retrieved after investigations revealed that the entrusted driver unlawfully disposed of the vehicle.
5. Silver Honda CR-V Traced to a crime syndicate known for violent vehicle snatching in Edo, Ogun, and Lagos states.
6. Grey Toyota Corolla – SMK 437 HV Found abandoned in a secluded area, suspected of being recently stolen.
7. Wine Toyota Corolla – LSD 887 JJ Recovered following the arrest of suspects linked to an interstate car-snatching network.
8. Ash Lexus ES350 Retrieved after intelligence confirmed it was fraudulently obtained and transferred by a criminal gang.
9. Toyota Highlander 2011 (Ash Colour) Seized during coordinated strike operations targeting suspected stolen vehicles.
10. Boxer Bajaj Motorcycle – KTU 310 QN Intercepted after surveillance traced suspicious movements associated with criminal activity.
In November, operatives arrested suspected armed robbers and members of violent crime groups involved in multiple offences, including: Kidnapping; Conspiracy; Robbery; Stealing; Assault occasioning harm; Threats to life.
“4 locally made pistols; 1 cut-to-size locally fabricated gun; 1 single cut-to-size barrel gun; Multiple live cartridges; 1 machete; 1 battle axe; 1 assault dagger; Nigerian military camouflage; 1 charm; and Fake foreign currency worth USD 4,000.
According to the Command, the seizure of these items has significantly disrupted the operational capabilities of violent gangs and minimized the risk of coordinated criminal attacks in Lagos State.
The Commissioner disclosed that several suspects are currently assisting investigations. The Command is working to: Identify remaining accomplices within kidnapping and armed robbery rings; Trace interstate and cross-border vehicle-snatching networks; Authenticate rightful ownership of all recovered vehicles and the motorcycle; Determine the source and circulation pathway of recovered counterfeit US currency; Analyse the use of military camouflage and charms in criminal operations; Strengthen oversight of private hire and informal transport services commonly exploited by criminals.
CP Jimoh reaffirmed its commitment to intelligence-driven policing and proactive enforcement, urging residents to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information that can support security operations across the state.
