The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has firmly disowned and distanced itself from any virtual meetings, notices, or invitations currently circulating in the name of the Association without due authorization from its National Secretariat.
In a strongly worded statement signed by Prince Femi Fadina, JP, President of ATPN, on behalf of the NEC, the Association clarified that no such meetings have been approved, scheduled, or sanctioned by the legitimate leadership of the body.
“The Association operates by structure, not sentiment; by constitution, not conjecture,” the statement emphasized. “Those behind these phantom meetings seek relevance through disruption, but ATPN remains focused on reform, professionalism, and accountability not propaganda.”
The NEC described the unauthorized attempts as misleading and deliberate acts of impersonation aimed at sowing confusion within Nigeria’s tourism industry and tarnishing the Association’s reputation.
ATPN therefore called on all members, partners, and stakeholders to disregard any virtual invitations or communications not issued directly from the Office of the President or through the Association’s official communication platforms.
Reaffirming its unity and commitment to sectoral growth, the leadership stressed that ATPN remains active and resolute in advancing professionalism, integrity, and the ongoing transformation of Nigeria’s tourism industry.
The statement further warned that any individual or group found attempting to hijack the Association’s identity or mislead the public would face disciplinary and legal action.
For clarity, ATPN reiterated that all official communications from the Association will always bear the signature and seal of the National Secretariat for authenticity.
