The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested eleven suspected drug dealers and recovered 68 bags of substances believed to be cannabis in a series of coordinated raids across Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operations were carried out by the Command’s Anti-Narcotics Unit at identified drug black spots within the capital city.
The Command said the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks fueling the illegal drug trade and reduce drug-induced crimes across the territory.
“This development marks a major step forward in dismantling criminal supply chains, curbing drug-induced crimes, and ensuring that harmful substances are kept away from our communities,” the statement read.
The police also assured residents of their continued commitment to intensifying operations against drug-related offences while urging the public to support security efforts by providing timely and useful information.
Residents can reach the Command through its emergency lines: 08061581938, 08032003913, and the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) number: 08107314192.
The suspects, police said, will be profiled and charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
