Western Naval Command Conducts Third Quarter Route March In Lagos



The Headquarters, Western Naval Command (WNC), on Saturday, September 20, 2025, conducted its Third Quarter Route March at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex, Navy Town, Ojo, as part of efforts to sustain the physical fitness and operational readiness of its personnel.

The exercise, which commenced at about 0630 hours, saw participants take off from the Navy Town Sports Complex, proceed to the Naval Ordnance Depot gate, and return to the starting point, concluding at approximately 0830 hours.

Addressing participants at the end of the march, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Rear Admiral M.G. Oamen, GSS, represented by the Command Operations Officer, Commodore A. Muhammad, commended the personnel for their enthusiasm and active participation. He lauded the organizers for their coordination and stressed the importance of maintaining physical fitness to remain proactive and responsive in safeguarding the Command’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The WNC conducts quarterly route marches as part of its routine exercises to ensure that officers and ratings remain combat-ready, disciplined, and capable of responding swiftly to emerging security challenges within Nigeria’s maritime domain.
