Peter Obi Advocates Quality Education, Youth Empowerment At School Events In Rivers, Anambra

Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, on Saturday, attended two secondary school graduation ceremonies in Rivers and Anambra States, where he reemphasized the critical role of education and youth empowerment in transforming Nigeria.

Obi, who was the special guest and guest speaker at the events, began his day in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he honoured a long-standing invitation from Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary School. He commended the students for their outstanding academic performance, particularly their impressive results in the recent Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.

“I was truly inspired by the brilliance and determination of the students,” Obi said. “I encouraged them to see education as a tool to not only develop their country but also to take over the world.”

He later proceeded to Obosi, Anambra State, where he attended the graduation ceremony of Divine Rays British School. Addressing the graduating students, Obi urged them to remain focused on their dreams and never allow their background to determine their future.

“With hard work, integrity, and faith, you can rise above limitations and become transformational leaders who will shape the future of Nigeria,” he told the students.

The former governor, known for his hands-on and consistent engagement with youths and education-related initiatives, also appreciated the schools’ management and staff for their dedication to raising the next generation of leaders.

His busy schedule, which also included engagements with students of the University of Calabar and several consultations in Abuja the previous day, has drawn admiration from supporters. Many noted his relentless energy and contrasted it with concerns over the health and agility of some older politicians vying for leadership positions in the country.

In a subtle dig, Obi reiterated the importance of electing leaders who are physically and mentally fit to manage a crisis-ridden nation like Nigeria, especially one with weak institutions.

“A New Nigeria is POssible,” he concluded.
