The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has received the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Nigeria, Mr. Lee Sang-ho, during a courtesy visit to the agency’s headquarters in Lagos.

The visit served as a strategic engagement to bolster bilateral relations and identify collaborative opportunities in the maritime sector, with a particular focus on capacity development.
Both parties emphasized the significance of human capital development in the maritime domain as a critical factor for economic growth and sustainable maritime governance. Mr. Sang-ho reiterated South Korea’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s efforts in building a skilled maritime workforce through technical exchange, institutional training, and developmental programs.
In his remarks, Dr. Mobereola expressed gratitude for Korea’s longstanding partnership and reaffirmed NIMASA’s dedication to global collaboration aimed at positioning Nigeria as a top maritime nation in Africa.

The meeting reflected a shared ambition to build a safer, more efficient, and globally competitive maritime industry anchored on professionalism and best practices.
