The newly inaugurated Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has pledged its full support to the Agency’s Executive Management in advancing Nigeria’s Blue Economy agenda.

Speaking at the Board’s inaugural meeting in Lagos, Chairman Hon. Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar commended the Agency’s leadership and reaffirmed the Board’s determination to help achieve NIMASA’s mandate. He noted that the performance bond recently signed with the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy would serve as a benchmark for measuring the Agency’s progress.
“We are determined to work with Management to ensure the full realization of activities that will help shape policy direction for the Agency,” Abubakar said.
NIMASA Director General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, welcomed the Board members and stressed that their support would boost efforts to strengthen maritime safety, security, and environmental protection, while attracting investment and building human capacity in the sector.
