In an unprecedented move and never before achieved feat by any Nigerian artiste, Afropop Queen Ashny drops another double set of EP’s just two months after dropping ‘H.O.E’ and ‘Ashny Swings Her Hips’.
Not one to rest on her oars or laurels Ashny has proven that indeed music flows in her veins effortlessly. Earlier in 2025 she released the Deluxe Edition of her debut album ‘Ashny Ain’t Playing’ with additional tracks just few months after dropping her second album ‘Femme Fatale’ produced by Sossick.
In a bid to meet up with fans demands and maintain her music momentum she recently teamed up with the young prolific producer Casey Jags to cook up a huge volume of bangers.
Her new double EP includes ‘Celebrations’, a body of work consisting songs that associate with Anniversaries and occassions. These include the happy birthday song ‘Plus 1’, ‘Celebrate’, ‘Baby for life’, ‘Odun De’, and ‘Dearly Departed’
The second EP in this collection ‘Wildcat’ as aptly titled explores the dynamic and deep side of ‘Char Char’, the alter ego by which Ashny is fondly referred. This compilation contains songs on a sporadic and vicious delivery level based on the angry outburst of a lover scorned. The energy exhibited on this EP has never been experienced before in Nigerian pop music. Ashny sets the tone to redefine the norm that female musicians are known for. She goes on a full ember spree from ‘Insane’ to the mellow but demanding ‘Say it back’ to the inquisitive ‘Closure’ to the non challant and dismissive ‘Like I Care’ and concludes with the venomous, vengeful and vindictive ‘Overhaul’.
Ashny aka Shekere aka Jaguar with a charm aka Fuego is really on fire as she makes history with these enormous body of work as within a year she has released 2 new full length albums, 4 EPs and set to release one more EP in september [A dose of Lagbaja] before wrapping the year with her forthcoming third full studio album ‘Femalepreneur’ with features including Queen Salawa Abeni, Yinka Davies, Ashionye, Gloria and Elvina Ibru, Kidda, Yellowgirl, Boomerang, and Butafly. Femalepreneur is the first ever all female ensemble and emancipative album by any Nigerian.
