The Anambra State Police Command has received a new Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to enhance its operational capacity in combating security challenges across the state.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, received the vehicle on behalf of officers and men of the command at the State Police Headquarters. He expressed appreciation to the management of the Nigeria Police Force for the timely delivery of the APC, describing it as a “critical asset” in strengthening efforts to maintain peace, law, and order in Anambra.
According to the CP, the new equipment will play a pivotal role in tackling emerging threats and ensuring more effective law enforcement.
He also acknowledged the continuous support and proactive leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, whose efforts, he said, have led to improved logistics, welfare, and morale among police personnel nationwide.
The Anambra State Police Command, through its spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reassured residents of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. The Command also urged continued cooperation from citizens to build a safer and more secure Anambra State.
The APC was delivered on July 28, 2025.
