In a bid to foster stronger police-community relations and deepen public trust, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, *CP Ikioye Orutugu*, on Friday, July 18, 2025, paid a strategic visit to Udala Radio Station 104.7 FM in Onitsha.
The visit formed part of the Command’s ongoing engagement with media platforms across the state aimed at enhancing Police-Public communication and promoting transparency in policing.
During a live radio programme, CP Orutugu addressed pressing security concerns and outlined the Command’s efforts to sustain peace and order across Anambra State. He emphasized the importance of community participation in policing and encouraged residents to remain proactive by reporting suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
He also reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and open dialogue with citizens.
The Commissioner’s visit underscores a renewed push by the Police to leverage media platforms as vital tools for building public confidence and encouraging collaboration in the fight against crime.
“The support of the media is crucial to our success in promoting security awareness,” CP Orutugu noted, as he called on all stakeholders to remain partners in the quest for a safer Anambra.
The Anambra State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer *SP Tochukwu Ikenga*, reiterated its appreciation to media organizations for their contributions to security development and reaffirmed its openness to continued partnership.
