Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, received the prestigious Humanitarian Services Icon of the Year Award at The Sun Awards 2023 held on February 17th, 2023, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos.

Recognized for her remarkable contributions to the Nigerian financial sector, the award citation highlighted Dame Adaora Umeoji’s exceptional philanthropic efforts, emphasizing her commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged. The Pink Breath Cancer Care Foundation, under her leadership, annually conducts healthcare programs across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, offering vital medical assistance to those battling cancer and other illnesses.

In addition to her humanitarian work, Dame Adaora Umeoji extends support to internally displaced persons nationwide through various intervention initiatives, providing relief materials and free healthcare. Her generosity also extends to community development, as evidenced by her recent donation of a Church building to the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja.

Furthermore, her longstanding yuletide programs have positively impacted the lives of over 5,000 indigent children for nearly two decades. Her numerous accolades include being a Peace Advocate of the United Nations (UN-POLAC), a Lady of the Order of Knights of St. John International (KSJI), and a Papal Knight of the Order of St. Sylvester.

In 2022, the Federal Government of Nigeria honored Dame Adaora Umeoji with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), recognizing her significant contributions to nation-building.
