Wema Bank, Nigeria’s leading innovative financial institution and pioneer of Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT, has disbursed N11 million to 131 women across the country as part of its commitment to financial inclusion and women’s empowerment. The disbursement took place during the March edition of its 5 for 5 Promo draw, held on Friday, March 21, 2025, in Aba, Abia State.
The 5 for 5 Promo, launched in 2021, is Wema Bank’s customer reward initiative aimed at appreciating and incentivizing loyalty to its products and services. Over three seasons, the initiative has distributed over N150 million to 2,378 Nigerians across all six geopolitical zones. Now in its fourth season with a N135 million cash prize, the promo has already disbursed over N50 million since kicking off in October 2024.
For the March draw, which coincided with Women’s Month, Wema Bank dedicated the N11 million cash prize exclusively to female customers. Among the top winners were Ogechukwu Patience Ani from Aba, Vanessa Chiamaka Ogbonna from Lagos, and Mubarakaht Abisola Alowonle from Bodija, each receiving N1 million. Other winners included eight domiciliary account holders who won N250,000 each, 40 women who received N100,000 each, and 80 women who won N25,000 each.
Congratulating the winners, Wema Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Moruf Oseni, reaffirmed the bank’s unwavering commitment to empowering women financially and professionally.
