United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, Africa’s Global Bank, has rewarded over 600 customers with prizes worth more than ₦200 million in its just-concluded UBA Legacy Promo series. This initiative, which began in July 2024, marked the bank’s 75th-anniversary celebration and its dedication to rewarding customer loyalty and promoting a savings culture.
At the grand finale held last Thursday at the UBA Head Office in Marina, Lagos, prizes totaling ₦41.8 million were distributed to over 100 lucky winners across various categories. The event was attended by representatives from regulatory bodies, including the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), journalists, and other stakeholders.
In the Savings Account category, 10 customers won ₦1 million each. The winners included Olonade Funmilayo, Abdullahi Yunusa, Anibueze Augustine Chidozie, and others. One of the winners, Mr. Oligbo Francis Azuka, expressed his excitement and gratitude during a phone interview, saying, “I honestly didn’t expect this. I appreciate UBA for recognizing me and for this generous reward.”
The Bumper Account category also saw 10 winners walking away with ₦1 million each, while 20 customers won ₦500,000 each. Additionally, 20 others received ₦250,000 each, and 10 lucky customers were awarded ₦100,000 each.
In the NextGen category, aimed at young customers, winners like Emmanuel Olakotan Oke and Sharon Oluwafunmilayo Ibitoye were awarded ₦180,000 in annual pocket money. Meanwhile, the Kiddies and Teens category saw 20 young savers receiving ₦200,000 each as educational grants.

UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, highlighted the significance of the initiative. He said, “The UBA Legacy Promo is our way of thanking our loyal customers who have trusted us over the years. As we celebrate 75 years of impact, we are committed to deepening financial inclusion and making banking rewarding and life-changing.”
Over the past six months, the promo conducted cluster, monthly, and quarterly draws, creating over 60 millionaires and showcasing UBA’s dedication to enriching lives and building stronger communities.
