United Bank for Africa (UBA), recognized as Africa’s Global Bank, celebrated the induction of 398 graduates into its workforce as part of the Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP) Class of 2024. This event marked the successful conclusion of the program’s second edition, held at the Eko Hotel in Lagos on Thursday.
The ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including UBA management, faculty members, mentors, and the graduates themselves, all coming together to honor the achievements of these promising young professionals. The GMAP, known for its rigorous six-month training that combines hands-on work experience with learning sessions, is designed to prepare participants for leadership roles within the banking sector.
Speaking at the event, a senior UBA executive highlighted the program’s impact: “Since its inception, the GMAP has graduated over 1,100 individuals, with 700 last year and 398 this year. Our commitment remains strong in providing equal opportunities for everyone, irrespective of age, tribe, gender, or background. We are dedicated to nurturing our youth to reach their full potential.”
