The Publisher of TMnews and CEO of Temis Prime Media, Temidayo Babalola, has announced that all is set for the 11th edition of the much-anticipated TMnews Summit and Awards, scheduled for Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event is expected to draw a distinguished crowd, including top government officials, security chiefs, business moguls, political leaders, traditional rulers, celebrities, and students from tertiary institutions.
At a press conference, Babalola explained that the summit will focus on contemporary issues affecting the nation, particularly youth engagement in governance as a solution to insecurity. The event’s theme is “Youth Engagement in Governance: Panacea to Insecurity,” with a sub-theme titled “Eliminating Homelessness.”
The summit will honor individuals and organizations whose contributions have been instrumental in improving humanity. Notable awardees include Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who will be named “Most Resourceful Governor of the Year”, and Osun State Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, who will receive the “Most Reliable Deputy Governor of the Year” award. The event’s chairman will be Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing, GMD/CEO of Adron Homes, while Prince Adebayo Shamsudeen Apelogun, National President of ACOMORAN, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour.
Other high-profile recipients include Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, recognized as “Most Creative Minister of the Year”, and Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, honored as “Outstanding Senator of the Year”. Hon. Odianosen Okojie, representing Esan North East/South East Federal Constituency, will be named “Outstanding Member of the Federal House of Representatives”, and Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, will be awarded “Most Resourceful Speaker of the Year”.
Security sector awards will go to individuals such as AIG Adegoke Fayoade, AIG Zone-2 Onikan Lagos, and DIG Kokumo Johnson (Rtd), Coordinator of the National Center for Control of Small Arms, alongside other distinguished security leaders. The corporate category features prominent names, including Dangote Industries Ltd, Air Peace, GTCO, UBA, and Wema Bank.
Traditional leaders like Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN and Chief Adewale Adesina Saranda will also be recognized. In addition, influential women such as Dr. Margaret Agada-Mba of Pan-Atlantic University and Rotarian Oyebanke Adeboyejo, President of Rotary Club V.I East, will be celebrated for their outstanding contributions.
The entertainment industry will not be left out, with awards going to popular figures such as comedian MC Mbakara and content creator Untouchable Comedies. Media personalities like Babajide Kolade Otitoju of TVC’s “Journalist Hangout” and Mr. Jonathan James Lyamgohn, a media consultant, are also set to be recognized.
