The Sharia Enforcement Commander in the Muslim dominated area of Uvwie Community, Effurun-Warri,Delta State, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar has reportedly vowed to eliminate one Bright Anie who is suspected to be promoting the gay culture among youths of his community.

Bright Anie

A very credible source close to the Commander revealed to our correspondent in Delta State that the Islamic adherent made a disclosure to such effect recently while tutoring some young Islamic faithfuls on how to defend their religion at all cost so that those they regard as infidels do not have dominion over them.

Earlier in the year, precisely January 13, 2024 the Sharia Enforcement Commander had ordered his political and Sharia thugs to arrest Bright but fortunately for him, he was not indoors when they arrived his Uvwie residence.

However, members of his family were not so lucky as those of them at home were brutally attacked including Bright’s father, Mr. Anie who was severely injured. He was allegedly stabbed twice on his left hand while his sister was also brutally injured. His mother and a neighbor were not so lucky as they lost their lives during the attack by the thugs.

Five other persons who tried to intervene during the ferocious attack were also badly injured and were said to have spent several weeks undergoing treatment in the hospital.

The fleeing Bright Anie was said to have been in a same-sex sexual relationship with one Yusuf who is related to the Sharia Enforcement Commander.

Since the January 13, 2024 incident members of Bright’s family have been on the run, living in an undisclosed location. Our correspondent gathered from some of their community sources that members of Bright’s family have disowned him.

His case is worsened by the fact that his own biological family strongly abhors same-sex relationship which they consider as a very shameful act that already attracts some punishment in line with the law prohibiting same-sex relationship in Nigeria.

Our correspondent gathered that while searching for Bright, the Commander had gone ahead to officially report his case to the police with the hope that if he escapes punishment from him, he would not likely get away from being prosecuted by the State since Nigerian law prohibits anything connected to Lesbianism, Gay, Bi-sexuality, Transgender and Queer.

When our correspondent contacted Delta State Police Command spokesman, Superintendent of Police Bright Edafe on phone over the threat, he said no formal report of the incident of threat has been made to the police. He however confirmed that investigation was still going on, with respect to the January 13, 2024 attack during which some lives were lost and others injured.
