SPORTS: Police Gear Up For 14th Biennial Games In Ibadan

In anticipation of the 14th Biennial Games, the Nigeria Police Force is in full swing with preparations for the upcoming sports extravaganza slated to take place in Ibadan, Oyo State. The event is scheduled to span from the 25th of February to the 2nd of March 2024.

Following the green light from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Force Sports Officer, CP Patrick Atayero, along with heads of various committees, will assemble in Ibadan from the 12th to the 14th of January 2024. Their agenda includes crucial meetings and assessments of facilities. This collaborative effort will also involve the Oyo State Government’s team, aimed at meticulously finalizing arrangements for a seamless and successful sports festival in Oyo State.

The 13th Biennial Police Games, the previous edition, unfolded in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, from the 23rd to the 30th of November 2022, showcasing athletic prowess and camaraderie among law enforcement personnel.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, emphasized the force’s commitment to promoting sporting excellence and fostering unity through these biennial events. The eyes of the sporting community are now on Ibadan, anticipating an event that will not only celebrate athleticism but also strengthen bonds among the nation’s police force.
