The Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Minna, Niger State, has taken a decisive step toward fostering innovation and achieving excellence by signing a performance agreement with its Heads of Department (HoDs). The initiative, led by the Overseeing Officer (OO) of the institute, Dr. John A. Hemen, aims to align departmental goals with the overarching objectives of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The signing ceremony, held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at SEDI-Minna, reflects the institute’s commitment to replicating the culture of excellence and high performance recently instituted by NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil S. Halilu, during a meeting with overseeing officers in Abuja.
Dr. Hemen highlighted the significance of the performance agreement, stating, “This agreement serves as a framework to align departmental goals with NASENI’s overarching objectives. It underscores our dedication to innovation and measurable outcomes.”
The performance bond, valid for four years, is structured to include annual reviews and monthly performance assessments. It will monitor progress in critical areas such as project viability, partnerships, revenue generation, and adherence to timelines.
This rigorous framework ensures that SEDI-Minna remains focused on delivering high-impact projects and maintaining alignment with NASENI’s goals of driving technological advancements and fostering economic growth.
By instituting this performance agreement, SEDI-Minna aims to build a culture of accountability, innovation, and strategic planning. The initiative is expected to enhance the institute’s operational efficiency, strengthen partnerships, and position it as a key driver of scientific and technological development in Nigeria.
With the agreement in place, SEDI-Minna is poised to contribute significantly to NASENI’s vision of advancing science and engineering infrastructure in the country, ensuring that its objectives are met with precision and excellence.
