Retired NNPC GM Wins Rising Golfers Challenge 2025

A retired General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Luke Anele, has emerged as the winner of the 2025 Rising Golfers Challenge held at the Lakowe Golf Course, Lagos, over the weekend.

Playing off handicap 21, Anele secured victory with a +4 net score, outperforming other participants in the highly competitive event.

Coming in second place was Wilson Egberipou, an Assistant Director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), who played off handicap 16 and finished with a net score of 6 over course par. In the guest category, Bayo Alli of Lakowe Lakes took the top spot.

The tournament attracted prominent figures, including Eniola Bello, Managing Director of ThisDay Newspapers; Ogbueshi Isichei Osamgbi, Director of Administration at NIMASA; and Magnus Ibe, Deputy Managing Director of Bourbon Interoil Nigeria Ltd. Other notable Nigerians also participated in the annual golfing event, which continues to promote the sport among rising and seasoned golfers alike.
