The Police Service Commission has given its approval for the appointment of new Commissioners for Bayelsa and Borno states.
The appointment was announced in its ongoing 21st Plenary Meeting at the Corporate Headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
The newly appointed Commissioners are CP. Alausa Hakeem Tolani for Bayelsa State and CP. Yusuf Mohammed Lawal for Borno state.
During the meeting, Solomon Arase, the Chairman of the Commission and retired Inspector General of Police, emphasized the importance of prioritizing national security in line with the vision of the President while urging the newly appointed Commissioners to dedicate the necessary attention to this objective.
Arase stressed the need to win the war against terrorism in Nigeria and called upon the Command Commissioners of the respective states to reevaluate their strategies and reclaim the public space from non-state actors who have been causing disturbances.
He assured the Officers that the Commission will continue to provide a conducive environment for them to perform at their best. Safeguarding the security of Nigeria and its citizens remains paramount for the country’s overall development.
