President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has officially appointed and confirmed Mr. Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) as the new Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service.
According to an official statement signed by Director of Information, For the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey noted that the appointment, which was confirmed and approved by President Tinubu, comes into effect as of October 19, 2023, aligning with the provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR).
In his new capacity, Adewale Adeniyi is tasked with leveraging his extensive experience to enhance the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service. The President’s choice of Adeniyi underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring effective customs and border control, as well as facilitating trade and revenue generation.
The Comptroller-General will play a pivotal role in driving economic activities, trade facilitation, and compliance with import and export regulations.
