Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos, CP Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, today led an inspection to assess the adherence of officers and men of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) to the newly implemented Nigeria Police Force dress code standards. The directive, issued by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, mandates that all FCID personnel turn out in full service uniforms every first Monday of the month, commencing today, May 5th, 2025.
The compliance inspection, held at the Police Special Fraud Unit headquarters in Ikoyi-Lagos, showcased a commendable level of adherence, with officers present and correctly attired in their designated uniforms. This turnout reflected the regimental standards expected within the Nigeria Police Force.
Addressing the assembled officers and men, CP Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, emphasized the critical role of appearance in maintaining discipline and fostering public trust in law enforcement. She stated that the uniform serves not only as a symbol of authority but also as a tool for accountability.
“Your appearance speaks volumes,” the Commissioner stated. “A well-maintained uniform reflects the discipline and professionalism that the public expects and deserves from their police force. This new directive will also serve as a means to ensure officers are held accountable for their conduct.”
