The Police Service Commission (PSC) has vehemently disowned and denounced a misleading social media publication circulating, purporting to invite potential candidates for the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force to a screening exercise with a request for a payment of N2000.
In a press release from the PSC’s Press and Public Relations Unit, the Commission clarified that the said publication bearing its name and instructing candidates to bring N2000 for the screening on January 8th, 2024, is entirely fictitious and misleading.
Emphasizing the Commission’s earlier statement regarding the free and transparent nature of the recruitment process, the PSC reaffirmed that there have been no alterations warranting any monetary demands from candidates throughout the recruitment stages. It sternly cautioned against the activities of fraudulent individuals seeking to compromise the integrity of the ongoing recruitment drive.
The Commission urged prospective candidates to disregard such misleading messages, emphasizing that the legitimate Police Recruitment Board is actively communicating with successful candidates, furnishing them with comprehensive details about the screening exercise.
Assuring adherence to Federal Character principles and a commitment to a transparent, merit-based process, the Commission categorically stated its unwavering stance against imposing any fees on candidates. It urged candidates to avoid shortcuts and uphold the established regulations governing the recruitment process.
The PSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring an outcome that aligns with international standards, producing qualified individuals capable of embodying the ideals of an ideal police force.
Ikechukwu Ani, the Head of Press and Public Relations, emphasized the Commission’s dedication to safeguarding the integrity of the recruitment exercise and cautioned candidates against falling prey to fraudulent schemes. The release served as a robust warning against any attempts to subvert the legitimate recruitment process and affirmed the Commission’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards in selecting candidates for the Nigerian Police Force.
