In a swift response to a distress call today at about 12:40 pm, police operatives rescued two victims from a building collapse at Ekeoyibo market. The rescued individuals have been transported to a hospital for medical care.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations to lead a team of operatives to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment. The area has been cordoned off, and rescue operations are still ongoing.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that further details would be communicated as the situation develops.
