The first incident occurred on 25th March 2024 at approximately 8:30 PM when a concerned citizen, whose identity was withheld, discovered a group of suspected kidnappers in the thick forest of Egbudu-Akah community, Aniocha South LGA. The individual promptly alerted the police, leading to a coordinated rescue operation.

Responding swiftly to the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilized a team of officers and local vigilantes to the scene. Upon reaching the forest, the officers engaged in a fierce exchange of fire with the kidnappers. Despite the resistance, one suspect was apprehended, and three kidnapped female victims were rescued. The victims, who were initially abducted while en route to the hospital, were immediately taken for medical treatment. It was discovered during preliminary investigations that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of fifteen million naira (#15 Million) for their release. Various exhibits, including weapons, phones, charms, and food items, were recovered from the scene.

In a separate incident on the same day at around 1:00 PM, officers from the Anti-Crime Patrol Team, Agbor Division, intercepted a young man carrying a suspicious bag in Ekuku-Agbor Community. Upon searching the bag, a locally made cut-to-size double-barrel gun and a cartridge were discovered. The suspect, identified as Happy Boi Akaibe, aged 25, was promptly arrested.

Both suspects and exhibits have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation and prosecution.
