Police Recover Beretta Pistol, Arrest Phone Theft Syndicate In Delta

In a proactive move aimed at maintaining law and order, the Delta State Police Command has once again demonstrated its commitment to tackling criminal activities within the state.

On March 25, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Mr. Ezeugwu Akanso reported at the ‘A’ Division in Asaba that his phone was stolen while he was traveling in a commercial tricycle from Konwea Plaza on Nnebisi Road to Okpanam Road. Acting swiftly, sympathizers assisted in apprehending the suspects, Collins Akpinoba and David Paulson, who specialize in robbing unsuspecting passengers. Both suspects have been detained, and preliminary investigations are underway.

In a separate incident on March 27, 2024, at around 6:00 p.m., the Anti-Crime patrol team in Agbor intercepted John Chikwuji, a native of Ekuku-Agbor, during a routine stop and search. Upon searching him, the team recovered a Beretta pistol. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Commenting on these developments, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi emphasized the command’s unwavering commitment to combating crime. He warned criminals to desist from illegal activities, emphasizing that those caught would face the full force of the law. Additionally, he reassured the public that the command is dedicated to addressing social challenges and mitigating the harmful effects of violent crimes.
