Police Operatives In Anambra State Seize Two Stolen AK-47 Rifles, Heighten Pursuit Of Criminals

In a significant stride against criminal elements, the Anambra State Police Command has successfully recovered two AK-47 rifles that were stolen from police formations in previous attacks.

One of the rifles was pilfered during the attack on Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, by unknown gunmen in 2021. The second rifle was looted from the Area Command Headquarters, Ogidi, in an assault by insurgents early last year.

Painstaking intelligence gathering by undercover operatives led to the discovery of the hidden arms cache in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA of the State.

Commending the diligence of the operatives, Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, urged them to persist in their efforts until the perpetrators of the attacks, which claimed the lives of police officers, are brought to justice. He assured the team of unwavering logistic support until the objectives are achieved.
