Police Officer Removed, Queried For Extortion In Abraka Division

…As Delta State Commissioner of Police Takes Swift Action Against Misconduct

In response to a reported case of extortion involving the sum of Two Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Naira (#2,465,000) by the Divisional Crime Officer 2 (DCO 2) at Abraka Division, Commissioner of Police CP Abaniwonda Olufemi has taken immediate and decisive action.

Upon receiving the disturbing report, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Abraka Division to report to the headquarters alongside the implicated officer, DCO 2 SP Ibrahim Ishaku. Following a thorough briefing on the incident, the Commissioner of Police ordered the immediate removal of SP Ibrahim Ishaku from his position and issued a formal query for misconduct.

CP Abaniwonda Olufemi emphasizes the commitment of the Delta State Police Command under his leadership to deal decisively with any officer engaged in misconduct, extortion, or incivility towards members of the public. He assures the public that the Command is prepared to take stringent measures against any erring officer and hopes this swift action will serve as a deterrent to others.

The Commissioner of Police reassures the people of Delta State that the Command remains dedicated to serving with honesty and a strict adherence to human rights. He emphasizes that no officer found guilty of wrongdoing will be spared from appropriate disciplinary measures.
