Members of a notorious one-chance gang operating along the Oshodi-Gbagada Expressway in Lagos have been apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin made this known in a statement made available to newsmen.
The RRS operatives intercepted the suspects as they were attempting to abandon their Suzuki mini bus, commonly known as ‘korope,’ in the Gbagada area of Oshodi-Oke along the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway on April 14, 2023. They had been in the process of dropping off a victim at the time of their arrest.
According to the investigation, the suspects had forcibly taken possession of the operational vehicle at gunpoint back in February at Ketu bus stop on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Ojo. The incident had been reported to the Ijanikin Police Divisional Headquarters.
After weeks of diligent investigation, the RRS successfully tracked down and apprehended the suspects, identified as Wale Ajayi (24 years old), Abideen Saka (26 years old), and Oliseh Sunday, also known as Bobwhiskey (29 years old), at their hideout. They have since been arraigned and remanded in custody.
