The Delta State Police Command has launched a manhunt for Mr. Stanley Ovemureye, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of his 6-year-old daughter, Abigail Stanley. The horrific incident occurred on June 15, 2024, at Uviama New Layout, Agbarho, Ughelli North LGA, and was reported by the suspect’s brother.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) dispatched operatives to the scene, where they discovered the lifeless body of Abigail. The young girl had suffered severe head trauma, reportedly inflicted by repeatedly being smashed against a wall. Her body has been transported to the mortuary.

Commissioner of Police Olufemi Abaniwonda, deeply disturbed by this barbaric act, has ordered an intense manhunt for Mr. Stanley Ovemureye, who remains at large. The Commissioner assures the public that every effort is being made to apprehend the suspect and ensure justice is served.
