In an unwavering commitment to combat crime and maintain public safety, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced significant strides in its ongoing efforts to tackle criminal activities across various regions of the country. The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, highlighted recent successes achieved by police operatives in Lagos and other states, underscoring the importance of public vigilance in curbing criminal behavior.
Addressing the media, ACP Adejobi emphasized the NPF’s responsibility to keep the public informed about its relentless pursuit of criminals and to educate citizens on the tactics employed by perpetrators to evade detection and perpetrate crimes.
In Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), police operatives have intensified their operational strategies, resulting in the apprehension of several individuals involved in heinous crimes. Notably, one Olaseinde Ojo, suspected of armed robbery and kidnapping, was apprehended at Post Office, Isokoko. Ojo, who masqueraded as a lunatic to approach his victims, was apprehended by vigilant officers, highlighting the importance of remaining cautious of criminals’ deceptive tactics.
Furthermore, in an operation along Dolphin Bridge, police officers intercepted a dispatch rider, Samson Shina, in possession of a locally made pistol and charms, further thwarting potential criminal activities in the area.
Meanwhile, in the FCT, police officers conducting stop-and-search duties apprehended three individuals traveling on a motorcycle, one of whom was identified as Usman Musa. Upon inspection, the officers discovered a locally fabricated Beretta pistol with live ammunition in their possession. A subsequent search of their premises led to the recovery of counterfeit currency and other incriminating items.
With an increasing number of incidents involving theft, defilement, and assault, the Nigeria Police Force urges citizens to remain vigilant and prioritize their personal safety. ACP Adejobi reiterated the importance of staying alert to one’s surroundings, especially in unfamiliar or poorly lit areas, and avoiding isolated locations, particularly during nighttime hours. Additionally, citizens are encouraged to secure their belongings and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.
By fostering a culture of vigilance and cooperation, members of the public can contribute significantly to efforts aimed at creating a safer society for all. The Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
