Police Authorize Burial of Three Children Found Lifeless In Fridge At Nnewi

The Anambra State Police Command has authorized the bereaved family of the three children found lifeless in a fridge at Nnewi to proceed with their burial. Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu granted the request, acknowledging the family’s deep grief and assuring them of swift police action when necessary.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on March 1, 2025, the Command emphasized that investigations into the tragic incident are still ongoing. The police are awaiting medical findings to determine the cause of death and unravel the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking discovery.

“The Command is working diligently to ensure that justice is served. While investigations are yet to be completed, we urge Ndi Anambra and all concerned to remain patient and cooperate with law enforcement to provide justice for the victims and their families,” the statement read.
