The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) Team from the POCACOV Resource Centre Enugu, visited Bishop Okoye Memorial School Abakpa Nike Enugu which is managed by the Daughters of Divine Love (DDL) Congregation.
According to the National Coordinator POCACOV and the leader of the school campaign and sensitization Team CSP Ebere Amaraizu, the essence is to aid in deepening the campaign message of Pocacov against cultism and other social vices among young minds and by cutting the supply chains and conveyor belts of cultism and other vices and helping young minds to establish their passion and be able to discover themselves for a greater society.
In his talk titled Say No to Cultism and other Vices and Be a champion, the National coordinator POCACOV informed them that the police campaign against cultism and other vices is a community driven and Public Relations Tool of the Nigeria Police force working with different stakeholders in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing towards addressing cultism and other vices amongst young people through stakeholders participation and involvement for a safe, secured and peaceful community.
He enjoined them to always remain focus and discover themselves by striving to imbibe always the spirit of do it by themselves (SELF Reliance).
He further stated that the POCACOV PASSION TALK is geared towards reminding young ones on the need to reflect always on who to be and what to do in life and advised them to be weary of the kind of friends they keep or follow to avoid being misled.
ASP Igwe Kyrian also spoke to them and giving them safety and security tips that will guide them as young people.
Earlier, the Directress of the School Reverend Sister Dr. Mary Catherine Ikenga of the Daughters of Divine Love (DDL) congregation with her team of other Reverend Sisters and Teachers had welcomed the POCACOV Team and thanked the Nigeria Police Force on POCACOV initiative which has provided a platform of dialogue and interaction and as a problem solving tool.
She assured of their continued partnership with the Nigeria Police through Pocacov to constantly engage children and young people for a greater tomorrow and a safer society.
I can assure you that POCACOV has provided a platform of value reorientation of our young people which will help them to overcome the challenges of negativity ideologies which pushes young minds to cultism and other vices as a way out of challenges.
