POCACOV Advocates For Inclusiveness For Girl-Child As The World Mark International Day For Girl-Child


The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has identified  inclusiveness and participation as a catalyst that will make child see themselves as transformational change  for gender equality.

This was made known to the Newsmen by the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu while reacting on the celebration of United Nation international day of the Girl Child.

Amaraizu, while congratulating all the girl-child and stakeholders on the all important day with the Theme as “Digital Generation, Our Generation” Amaraizu noted that the girl-child needed to be that platform that will expose them to digital inclusion and vast knowledge of technology leading to popular participation, self discovery and strategic leadership direction.

According to the Coordinator, the platform will support them to perform optimally in both Activism and leadership.

“This is because girl-child are leaders and strong source of transformational change for gender equality (GOAL 5 GENDER EQUALITY) of Sustainable Development Goals”

He however, expressed displeasure on how some girl child are sent for hawking, street dealings and begging, doing some activities that exposes them to an unsafe environment and making them prone to abuses and other obnoxious activities militant against the self discovery by girl-child.

“We at POCACOV will continue to work with different stakeholders to raise the awareness that the girl-child remains the strength of our home and the future of our Nation” he noted.
