Plateau Delegation Visits Zazzau Emirate, Condoles With Victims Of Mangun Mob Incident


A high-powered delegation from Plateau State, led by the Emir of Wase, Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, has paid a condolence visit to the Zazzau Emirate and the government and people of Kaduna State, following a tragic mob attack in Mangun, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

During the visit to Zaria, the Emir of Wase extended heartfelt sympathies to the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and families affected by the incident, which claimed several lives. He offered prayers for the souls of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.

Emir Haruna disclosed that twenty-two suspects had been arrested in connection with the violent act, and assured that security agencies were taking steps to ensure justice.

He urged the people of Plateau and Kaduna states, as well as the Zazzau Emirate, not to allow the incident to damage the long-standing relationship between the regions. The royal father emphasized the importance of unity and peace across state and ethnic lines.

In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah for the safe arrival of the delegation and thanked them for the show of solidarity.

He appealed for peace, tolerance, and mutual respect among people, regardless of ethnic or religious differences. The Emir also called on the media to play a constructive role by promoting peaceful coexistence and avoiding narratives that could escalate tensions.

Speaking on behalf of the affected families, Yakubu Yusuf expressed sorrow over the loss of loved ones and gratitude to the Plateau delegation for their visit. He appealed to the Plateau State government to provide support for families who lost their breadwinners in the attack.

The Emir of Zazzau reiterated the need to ensure that such incidents are never repeated, especially in this modern era. He called for calm and peace, stressing that no act of violence should be tolerated under any guise.

The condolence visit, which had earlier been promised by the Plateau State government, concluded with special prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident.
