Peter Obi Supports Education With Learning Equipment Donation In Adamawa State

In a bid to promote digital literacy and bridge the educational gap in Nigeria, Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has donated learning equipment to students of Saint Augustine College, Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State. The gesture included 10 laptops and a printer aimed at enhancing computer science and information technology literacy among the students.

Speaking during his visit yesterday, Obi expressed his belief in the transformative power of education, emphasizing the importance of equipping young learners with the right tools and resources to thrive in a digital world.

“Supporting education by equipping students with the right tools and resources is not just a responsibility but a necessity for building a better future,” he said. “Their enthusiasm for learning was both encouraging and inspiring.”

The visit to Saint Augustine College followed an earlier engagement at an Almajiri school in Yola, where Obi reiterated his commitment to education as a cornerstone for sustainable growth and societal advancement.

The former governor of Anambra State highlighted the need for initiatives that empower the next generation, bridge the digital divide, and foster innovation in schools, stating that such efforts are critical for building a progressive and inclusive Nigeria.

“This is the type of commitment we need for sustainable growth and the advancement of our society. A new Nigeria is indeed POssible!” Obi declared, reinforcing his vision for a more equitable and prosperous nation.

The donation has been lauded by educators and students alike, who view it as a step toward addressing the challenges of digital illiteracy in Nigerian schools.

As the nation grapples with issues of educational infrastructure and access, Obi’s intervention underscores the role of private individuals and stakeholders in complementing government efforts to transform Nigeria’s educational landscape.
