Peter Obi Supports College of Nursing Sciences, Mbano, With ₦10 Million

The former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has extended a financial contribution of ₦10 million to the College of Nursing Sciences, Mbano, Imo State. Obi made the announcement via his Twitter handle, emphasizing his commitment to advancing the nation’s education and health sectors.

During his visit to the college over the weekend, Obi lauded the institution’s growth from a School of Nursing to a full-fledged College of Nursing Sciences. He commended the college for its contributions to producing well-trained nurses and midwives for the healthcare system.

“I am confident that my contribution to the college will go a long way in fostering its growth,” Obi stated. He further underscored the importance of supporting educational and health institutions during challenging times, describing them as critical to national development.

Obi reiterated his call for increased government funding for education and healthcare, emphasizing that redirecting resources from frivolous expenditures to these sectors would empower the nation to achieve sustainable development.

He also expressed gratitude to individuals and organizations contributing to the betterment of Nigeria’s education and health sectors, reaffirming his belief in the possibility of a “New Nigeria” driven by an educated and healthy population.

The visit and donation were well-received by the college community, marking another milestone in Obi’s advocacy for a shift from a consumption-driven economy to a production-oriented nation.
