Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visits To Enugu And Anambra, Sympathizes With Bereaved Families

Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, undertook a series of condolence visits to Enugu and Anambra states to sympathize with families who recently suffered tragic losses.

In the morning, Obi visited the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Enugu, where he met with a colleague and his family affected by a devastating gas explosion that injured the siblings of one of their own. He extended words of encouragement and support during this difficult time.

Following the visit, Obi traveled to Anambra State to commiserate with renowned professor of pathology, Prof. Gershon Ejeckam, over the sudden death of his only son, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ejeckam. Dr. Ejeckam, a practicing doctor, passed away recently in Qatar. Obi expressed his condolences to Prof. Ejeckam and his immediate family, acknowledging the immeasurable pain of losing a promising young man who had been contributing significantly to societal growth.

Obi also visited Onitsha to console Mr. Anthony Onyebuchi Ibeziako, his former Vice Principal at Christ The King College, Onitsha, over 40 years ago. Mr. Ibeziako recently lost his wife, Lady Kushnell Ibeziako, who passed away at the age of 91. Obi described Mr. Ibeziako as a dedicated teacher and disciplinarian who greatly influenced his secondary school education.

In his statement, Obi prayed for the repose of the souls of the late Dr. Chukwuemeka Ejeckam and Lady Kushnell Ibeziako, asking God to grant the Ejeckam and Ibeziako families the fortitude to bear these irreplaceable losses. He also extended his prayers for God’s protection and blessings upon both families.

The visits underscore Obi’s commitment to showing empathy and solidarity with individuals and families facing personal tragedies.
