Peter Obi Donates N60m To Educational Institutions In Anambra, Reaffirms Commitment To Health, Education

Former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi visited two institutions under the Catholic Diocese of Awka, reaffirming his commitment to health and education as vital sectors for Nigeria’s development. During his visit, Obi donated N60 million to St. Peter University, Achina, and St. Joseph College of Nursing Sciences, Adazi Nnukwu.

At Peter University, Obi donated N50 million, expressing his belief in education as a powerful tool to lift people out of poverty. He later visited the College of Nursing Sciences in Adazi Nnukwu, where he contributed an additional N10 million.

In his address, Obi emphasized, “In tune with my unwavering belief that health and education are veritable ways of pulling people out of poverty and that these sectors are critical to development in a New Nigeria, I provided my financial support to Peter University and the College of Nursing Sciences.”

Obi reiterated the need for a healthy and educated population to build a productive nation, particularly given Nigeria’s youthful demographic. He said, “No nation develops without a healthy and educated workforce. By prioritizing these areas, we aim to build a nation of healthy and educated citizens who are productively contributing to national growth.”

Obi thanked the management, staff, and students of both institutions for their dedication to advancing health and education. He concluded with a message of optimism, stating, “I remain confident that a New and Productive Nigeria is possible.”
