The Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, today journeyed by road from Lagos to Ile-Ife to attend the 50th birthday celebration of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Dr. Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
During the event, Obi also participated in the commissioning of the Oduduwa House, a significant structure donated by Sir Dr. Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole-Oodua of the Source. The Oduduwa House is expected to serve as a symbol of unity and progress for the Oodua family and Nigeria as a whole.
In his remarks, Peter Obi extended his heartfelt prayers for the Ooni and the people of Ile-Ife, stating, “May God Almighty continue to bless His Imperial Majesty and the good people of Ile-Ife, and may the Oduduwa House be a source of inspiration, unity, and progress for the Oodua family and Nigeria in general.”
Obi concluded his address with a hopeful message, reaffirming his vision for national growth and development, saying, “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
The event drew dignitaries from across the country, as the ancient city of Ile-Ife continues to play a pivotal role in the cultural and historical heritage of the Yoruba people.
