In a show of unity and concern for the nation’s security, a peaceful prayer rally was organized today in Abuja by members of Leadwell Africa Global Initiative in collaboration with the Nigerian Cleric Council of Bishops and Imams. The gathering brought together bishops, imams, and other concerned Nigerians to express solidarity and seek divine intervention amidst the prevailing challenges facing the country.
Addressing the attendees, Bishop Lawrence Ngene, President of the Nigerian Cleric Council of Bishops and Imams, emphasized the need for unity and collective action in addressing the various issues plaguing the nation. He highlighted the pain and anguish felt by Nigerians over the escalating insecurity, rising cost of living, corruption, and other societal challenges.
“We feel the pain of innocent Nigerians whose lives have been cut short by bandits, armed robbers, kidnappers, and terrorists. We feel the pain of insecurity spreading across the country,” Bishop Ngene expressed.
The rally participants also expressed concerns over the loss of trust in public institutions, including the judiciary, the national assembly, and the electoral system. They called for urgent measures to restore confidence in these institutions and address the grievances of the populace.
Of particular urgency was the plea for the release of Abba Kyari and his team, who are seen by many Nigerians as instrumental in combating high-profile criminals and ensuring security within communities. Participants stressed the need for their return to the Nigerian Security Architecture to alleviate fears and restore peace of mind among citizens.
“We know the dedication and effectiveness of Abba Kyari and his team in apprehending criminals and maintaining security in our society. Their presence is sorely missed, and we pray for their swift return to duty,” Bishop Ngene stated.
The rally concluded with fervent prayers for divine intervention, good governance, and leadership in Nigeria. Participants reiterated their commitment to advocating for positive change and standing in solidarity with fellow Nigerians in the pursuit of a safer and more prosperous nation.
As the nation grapples with multifaceted challenges, initiatives like the peaceful prayer rally serve as a reminder of the resilience and unity of the Nigerian people in the face of adversity.
