OPERATION UDO GA CHI: CP Orutugu Intensifies Stakeholder Engagements In Anambra To Tackle Kidnapping

In a renewed effort to curb the menace of kidnapping and other criminal activities in Anambra State, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc, MNIPS, PhD, has intensified his engagement with key stakeholders across the state under the ongoing Operation Udo Ga Chi—Zero Kidnapping initiative.

The campaign, which was launched to enhance security during the Easter season and beyond, is aimed at reinforcing collaboration between the police, other security agencies, and the local communities.

CP Orutugu has embarked on strategic visits to prominent individuals and communities to rally support for the police and strengthen intelligence-sharing mechanisms. During the recent tour, he met with renowned philanthropist, Sir Emeka Offor, and also visited Chief Vincent Udobi in Ukpo. The Commissioner also inspected security deployments in Ihiala, making a stop at the residence of Obijackson.

According to the police, these engagements are part of a broader strategy to enhance community policing and foster stronger relationships with stakeholders whose input and support are crucial to improving security outcomes across the state.

The Commissioner was accompanied by a high-powered delegation including the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, CC Joyce N. Alexander; Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Ibrahim Ezekiel; Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Mantu Chongs mni; and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, DCP Ngozi Ezeabata, among other senior officers.

Spokesperson for the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, noted that the Police Command intends to continue its stakeholder engagements in the coming days and is committed to carrying all relevant parties along in the collective pursuit of safety and security in Anambra State.

The initiative underscores the command’s resolve to deepen trust, encourage community-based intelligence, and eradicate kidnapping and other forms of criminality in the state.
