Olalekan Olabulo Of Tribune Emerges New CRAN President


The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), has elected new executive officials who will drive the affairs of the Association for the next three years.

The elected new officials, who were sworn in on Friday at the Association’s Mike Okiro Press Centre, Oduduwa, Ikeja Lagos, are Olalekan Olabulo of The Tribune Newspaper as President, Evelyn Usman of Vanguard Newspaper as Vice President and Chiemelie Ezeobi of This Day Newspaper as Treasurer (Unopposed).

Other elected officials are Adeniran Odufayo of the Radio Nigeria as the General Secretary, Adaobi Maureen Obiechina of the Nigerian Television Authourity (NTA) as Assistant Secretary, Taiwo Jimoh of the New Telegraph Newspaper as the Public Relations Officer/Auditor while Ismaila Oguntade of Leadership Newspaper as the Financial Secretary, also unopposed.

The swearing in and oath taking was conducted immediately after the election by a legal Practitioner, Yinka Sanni who used the opportunity to admonished the newly elected officers to at all time uphold and defend the Constitution of the Association and perform their duties with integrity.

The immediate past president Sunday Odita admonished the new executives to ensure that the welfare of members is paramount in their agenda, and also build on the legacy of the out gone excos.

Speaking on behalf of the the new excos the President who assured members of the association that he will not disappoint them urged every member to join hands with the new exco in its quest at moving the association forward.
