Dr. Emmanuel Nweke Okafor (Emma Ezeagbo), a distinguished lecturer and recruitment manager based in Bangkok, has addressed the rising tensions within the Nteje-Abogu community, calling for a shift from destructive criticism to constructive dialogue in the town’s leadership discourse. In an open letter to the people of Nteje, both at home and abroad, Dr. Okafor emphasized the importance of unity and positive feedback to foster growth and peace.
Acknowledging the mounting criticisms surrounding the current President General (PG) of Nteje-Abogu, Dr. Okafor urged the community to reflect on the positive contributions made during the PG’s tenure, particularly in 2023. He recalled the success of the “Nteje Mass Return 2023” as a landmark achievement and advised critics to offer constructive suggestions rather than personal attacks on the PG’s character.
Okafor stressed that harsh, destructive criticism only serves to push leaders into a defensive stance, which ultimately hinders progress. “When criticism is overly harsh, it can overshadow the actual message or lesson,” he stated, calling on the community to focus on solutions rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.
He also expressed strong support for the emergence of Igwe Abogu III, describing the collaboration between the PG and the future Igwe as crucial for the town’s stability. According to Dr. Okafor, Nteje-Abogu is too vast for the PG to manage alone, and the partnership with Igwe Abogu III would help address pressing issues more effectively.
In conclusion, Dr. Emmanuel reminded the people of Nteje-Abogu that they are all stakeholders in the future of their community. He encouraged a culture of empathy, respect, and unity, urging his fellow citizens to move forward together for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Nteje-Abogu.
