The Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Solomon T. Iyamu fsi, overseeing Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Zone K Command in Awka, emphasized the importance of fostering positive relationships with civilians and adhering to professional conduct while interacting with the public. During his visit to the Enugu State Command, ACG Iyamu encouraged officers and men to execute their duties diligently within the established regulations.
Emphasizing the significance of aligning actions with the Corps’ mission and vision under the leadership of Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Audi, mni, OFR, ACG Iyamu commended the Enugu Command for their dedication and urged them to maintain the Corps’ esteemed reputation. He cautioned against behaviors that could tarnish the NSCDC’s image, urging restraint, dedication, and the avoidance of unnecessary intimidation toward citizens.
“I want to commend Enugu State Command on your performance so far. I am here to convey the greetings of our Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi, mni, OFR, and to encourage you to uphold the dignity the Corps is known for. Please shun acts capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps in your dealings with members of the Public, be dedicated to your duties, avoid overzealousness and intimidation of innocent citizens. The Commandant General is not unmindful of your achievements, please keep it up,” ACG Iyamu remarked.
Addressing newly recruited personnel undergoing training, ACG Iyamu urged them to embody the values of the Corps, emphasizing the public’s reliance on their youthful energy to redefine the organization positively. He called for public cooperation, stressing that collective efforts are crucial in ensuring a safe and secure environment.
“We all must collaborate and cooperate to achieve our desires for a safe and secure environment. If the public cooperates with the NSCDC and provides us with credible information, the criminals would find it difficult to operate,” stated ACG Iyamu.
