The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Mr. Isidore Chukwudi Chikere has given assurance that the Corps is commitment to partnering the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences (ICPC) to fight corruption.
This was contained in a press statement signed by DSC Okadigbo Edwin, Public Relations Officer to Hybrid News.
Mr. Chikere stated this in Awka earlier today Tuesday 26th of July,2022 when he received on a courtesy visit the Resident Anti – Corruption Commissioner (RACC) of ICPC Anambra, Mr. Oche Godwin A. and his team at the Command Headquarters.
While commending the ICPC team for the visit, Mr. Chikere emphasized the need to close all ranks in tackling the menace of corruption and corrupt practices in all ramifications.
He lamented that corruption has retarded the economic growth of the country, adding that the Corps was ready to offer the commission every necessary support needed to achieve their mandate.
Earlier, in his remark, Mr Oche Godwin A. the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) in the State thanked the State Commandant for the timely response to the Commission’s request for courtesy visit.
The Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner scored the need for both agencies to work together, especially in the areas of information gathering and sharing with adoption of new strategies to the fight against corruption and other crimes in the State.
Mr. Oche solicited the cooperation of the NSCDC state helmsman to support the commission, majorly in the provision of security coverage during ICPC operations in the State.
The visit ended with the presentation of ICPC ACT to the State Commandant.
