NSCDC Reiterates Its Commitment To Implement More Proactive Strategies To Prevent Crimes And Criminality

The State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, Commandant Everestus C. Obiyo JP+ has pledged the Commands’ readiness in tackling head-on the prevailing security challenges across the State.

Obiyo stated this today, thursday 17th of March 2022 in Awka at the sidelines of the Inauguration and Swearing In Ceremony Of Professor Charles Soludo, CFR as the sixth democratically elected governor of Anambra state.

Obiyo who stated that as the lead agency statutorily mandated to ensure the safety of the entire Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) spread across the nation, the security of assets and people’s lives remain the top priority of officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

On the successful tenure of Governor Obiano, the NSCDC Commandant expressed the Corps’ gratitude to the immediate past administration of Chief Dr. Willie Obiano for the harmonious working relationship and swift response in providing operational and logistics support which assisted the command in its determined bid to safeguard the lives and property of all innocent, law-abiding citizens.

He lauded Governor Obiano for his courage and support of what is right and good for the state, saying that he cherished working with him due to his unwavering commitment in providing security agencies a conducive operational environment that guaranteed security of lives and property of residents in the State.

The State NSCDC boss while wishing the outgone Governor well in his future endeavors promised to extend the same working relationship to the administration of Professor Chukwuma Soludo as he takes over the mantle of leadership from Chief Willie Obiano, in the Commands’ efforts at ensuring that crime and criminal activities are brought to a standstill.

Against this backdrop, Mr. Obiyo has charged officers and men to dwell more on intelligence gathering and called for the cooperation of the people to always volunteer useful information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of criminals in the state.

Mr. Obiyo, however, vowed that the command would continue to collaborate with other sister agencies in the state in order to be able to effectively secure the State, warning members of the public to desist from crime as anyone caught will be made to face the full weight of the law.
