In response to the recent directive from the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Lagos State Command has undertaken extensive preparations to deploy personnel to secure Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) stations nationwide. This proactive measure aims to enhance security and safeguard the assets of these vital broadcasting facilities.

Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, MFR, fdc, the State Commandant of NSCDC, demonstrated unwavering commitment to executing this directive by visiting NTA Channel 10’s headquarters in Tejuosho, Yaba, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. During this visit, he engaged with Mr. Olatunji Adekoya, the General Manager of NTA Channel 10, and other high-ranking management staff to discuss and align objectives in this newly established partnership between the two government agencies.

Commandant Alfadarai took the opportunity to elaborate on the statutory mandates of the NSCDC, emphasizing the Corps’ role in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, as stipulated by the Acts that established the Corps in 2003 and 2007, as well as the National Policy Strategy of 2019.

NTA Channel 10 and NTA2 Channel 5, two prominent NTA stations, have been identified as the beneficiaries of this renewed partnership with the NSCDC. This collaboration aims to foster peace, enhance security, and ensure the protection of lives and property in Lagos State.

Additionally, both agencies have agreed to launch a new program that will serve as a platform for gathering public feedback and intelligence, further strengthening the Command’s service delivery and improving security in the state. The program will focus on the NSCDC’s statutory mandates and other tasks assigned to the command, ultimately contributing to a more comprehensive security network in Lagos State.

The NSCDC and NTA Channel 10 are committed to working together to fortify security measures and enhance public engagement in the pursuit of safety and protection.
