NPF Operations Yield Success As Criminals Face Justice Across Nigeria

In a resolute stance against criminal activities, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens, as evidenced by recent operations resulting in the arrest of kidnappers, suppression of bandits, and apprehension of cultists across the country.

On the 17th of March 2024, at approximately 10:30 PM, a joint team of mobile officers and men from Maroko Division, under the command of the PMF 20, Ikeja, Lagos, stormed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout. The operation led to the arrest of nine kidnappers, the rescue of three kidnapped victims, and the recovery of ten mobile phones and two Point of Sale (POS) machines.

In another remarkable feat in Lagos State, on the 16th of March 2024, operatives from the Badagry Divisional Headquarters apprehended Abass Taiwo Hassan, suspected to be the ringleader of a cult gang responsible for the shooting of Adeniyi Adebanjo on the 26th of February 2024. Hassan confessed to the crime and disclosed his leadership role in a six-man cult gang.

Meanwhile, on the 15th of March 2024, a surveillance team from Sabon Tasha Divisional Headquarters, Kaduna State, responded to gunshots emanating from Kapam community. Upon investigation, the team encountered armed bandits, leading to a confrontation where the bandits surrendered four abducted persons and fled the scene.

Adding to the successes, the police surveillance team from Elimgbu Divisional Headquarters, Port-Harcourt, apprehended three armed robbery suspects on the 20th of March 2024. The suspects, identified as Savior Walson, Ifeanyi Aaron, and Chisom Kenneth, were found in possession of a tricycle, a locally made pistol, and two live cartridges. Upon interrogation, they confessed to conducting robbery operations within the oil mill market and its environs.

In response to the prevailing security challenges, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM, reaffirmed the commitment of the NPF to serving as a beacon of hope in times of distress. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public to ensure a safe and just society.

As the NPF continues its relentless efforts to combat crime, citizens are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police to achieve a safer and more secure Nigeria.
