The Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT) inaugurated the Fire Control and Quarter Armourer courses for batches 22, 26, and 27 of 2024 at its Kachia, Kaduna campus on Friday, July 26, 2024. Commodore Henry Aruomaren, the Commandant of NNSAT, presided over the ceremony.
The newly inaugurated courses include Fire Control (FC) first rate to third rate courses and Quarter Armourer (QA) first rate to third rate courses. These programs aim to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of naval personnel in gunnery and parade drills.
In his remarks, Commodore Aruomaren highlighted the significance of these courses, describing them as a unique opportunity for students to improve their proficiency in naval operations. He expressed his gratitude to the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ikechukwu Emmanuel Ogalla, for his continued support and commitment to the school, which has been repositioned to further contribute to the professional training efforts of the Nigerian Navy.
Earlier, the Training Commander of NNSAT, Commander Ibrahim Abdullahi, detailed the course package, emphasizing that students would be exposed to both theoretical and practical training to enhance their academic and field competencies. He urged the students to actively participate in all class and field activities and warned that the school maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and examination malpractice.
Rear Admiral Istifanus Albara, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, represented by the Chief Staff Officer, Rear Admiral Olukayode Ayo-Vaughan, delivered closing remarks virtually via Zoom. He encouraged the students to commit to safety, excellence, and teamwork throughout their training.
The event concluded with a photo session at the NNSAT photo stand, marking a memorable start to the courses aimed at advancing the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Navy.
